The goal of the meeting is to discuss the pan-European timing network and explore the interoperability between the member states / NRENs and the possibility of commercial use while maintaining existing obligations and use cases. Participants include NRENs, NMIs and other bodies from Member States, telecom industry representatives, EURAMET, GÉANT and the European Commission.

Important to know: expenses, registration & travel arrangement!

The JRC will be in charge of registration. On-site participants will be required to fill in their passport/EU27 ID details when registering due to the security requirements of the JRC site

The JRC will be arranging pick-up and daily transportation to and from the hotel. Pick-up will be arranged from either Milano Malpensa airport or Milano Central Train Station. They will operate mini-buses for pickup (so there is flexibility) in the morning/afternoon. 

You should ideally plan your travel before registering. This is because you will be asked to provide information about your arrival in order for the pick-up to be arranged accordingly.

The JRC will reserve the necessary amount of hotel rooms at Europa Hotel, Ispra. However, you will need self-pay the accommodation based on their instructions. 

Attendees will need to self-fund some expenses for this meeting. Please see below which expenses are covered and what you will need to self-pay.

Self-paid expenses:

  • Travel to and from Italy
  • Hotel accommodation (for pre-chosen hotel by the JRC - Europa Hotel, Ispra)
  • Group dinner

Covered expenses:

  • Transportation to JRC site from Milan 
  • Transportation from JRC to Milan
  • Hotel breakfast
  • Lunch

Table 1: What are the commercial time distribution technical requirements? What do you perceive as the main choke points? What can you agree on?

After the break, the question would be: What are the existing NMIs/NRENs time distribution commercial technical requirements? What do you perceive as the main challenges and choke points? What can you agree on?

Table 2: (legal/regulatory): What does telecom need to distribute time? What are the user requirements?

After the break, the question would be: What do NMIs/NRENs need to provide time to Telecom/industry? What is required?

Table 3: What support do you expect from the EC?

After the break, the question would be: What support do you expect from MS? Other places?

Each table will have a Chairperson and secretary, for the last 10 minutes we would ask each Chairperson to report back
