• First select the type of certificate that you want to request by clicking on the tab at the top.

  • SSL Certificates are for servers.

  • Grid Certificates are for both servers and clients who participate in the global e-Science Grid.

  • Client Certificates at the moment can be 'manually' obtained via CertCentral.  Work on the integration of SAML federations in the DigiCert portal is in progress.

  • Code Signing Certificates to sign software (or objects).

  • Document Signing is for signing documents. Client certificates can also be used but there are differences, certainly in a PDF environment using Adobe Acrobat.
