Position Summary:

This is a community-facing position responsible for developing innovative ideas supported by the GÉANT community into projects, task-forces and services in line with GÉANT strategic goals.  The primary focus will be on managing and supporting Task Forces and Special Interest Groups to ensure that they meet workplan objectives and key performance indicators. 

((The role provides a primary interface between the GÉANT organisation and its community,)) to support international collaboration, to support members’ requirements for exploring new technologies, building cost-effective products and to develop and maintain external collaborative links to the members and research community and industry.

The role is also expected to represent the organisation / community in international (technical) consultative bodies, to exchange information and make presentations at conferences, symposia and meetings.

Main Responsibilities:

The majority of the work involves:

  • To support and develop working groups, Task Forces, Special Interest Groups and projects, providing reporting and documentation, and stimulating and motivating teams to perform towards the completion of the goals;
  • To manage different types of GÉANT services that are associated with GÉANT Task Forces and Special Interest Groups;
  • To produce informational material on activities and advise the GCC on engagement in relevant (technical) areas;
  • To follow the community trends and organise ad-hoc working groups to explore (technologies) further;
  • To work in collaboration with the GÉANT partner relations team, business development officers and marcomms team to support the community;
  • To support the requirements of the GÉANT Community Committee (GCC) and the GÉANT Community Programme;
  • To present the GÉANT Community Programme at conferences and exhibitions.

In addition to the above you will carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

The position involves regular travel mainly in Europe but occasionally world-wide.
