Update for TTC Members
REFEDS has prepared and circulated its end of year report to Sponsors and to the community. In response to discussion and proposals from the community, the REFEDS Sponsorship Approach has been updated. Since 2010, this has worked on an informal level with NRENs and other organisations gifting money to REFEDS at a level they felt appropriate. There was no funding agreement to support this approach and no transparency as to who was paying what. A need for greater accountability has led to the development of the new REFEDS Sponsorship agreement with standardised levels of payment and a supporting signed agreement. Finding "levels" for REFEDS was challenging as the community was determined to keep everything as open as possible, but the level definitions have been accepted as a good way of tackling this issue.
A workplan for 2015 has been drafted, this is dependent on agreement of funding from sponsors. Agreement to sponsor has been reached with RENATER, ISOC, AAF, Surfnet, InCommon, Nordunet, RedIRIS, SWITCH and LIGO. Discussions are ongoing with GARR and CANARIE, no reponse has been received from the UK to-date.
