About us:

WP8 is a work package in the GN4-3 project.

The objective of WP8 is to keep the R&E network safe and secure at the backbone level and support the GN4-3 Partners with up-to-date tools to keep their networks and connections to the GÉANT network safe and secure in an environment of increasing levels of cyber-security threats.

The work is divided into 7 (sub)tasks:

Task 1: Business Continuity 

Task 2: Security Baseline

Task 3.1: SOC

Task 3.2: Vulnerability Assessment as a Service

Task 3.3: DDoS

Task 3.4: Firewall on Demand

Task 3.5: eduVPN

The beginning of 2019 is a kick-off season in GN4-3 project, with many meetings taking place all over Europe. WP8 (Security work package) is not an exception – on 29-30 January 40 security specialists, from 19 organisations, 14 countries, got together in Rome for the first time to meet each other and plan the upcoming work. We were kindly hosted by GARR, which also created the possibility for the GARR security team to join the discussions.…
