TCP Measurement Instrumentation

There are several mechanisms that can be used to observe performance of TCP in a system. In particular, on Linux there are:

Of these, only TCP_INFO is supported by "mainline" Linux as of December 2014. There are plans for a meeting in early 2015 to discuss requirements for TCP instrumentation. Interested parties include engineers from Google, Facebook, Akamai, and the Web10G project.
