1a1.a. Audio: Direct configuration of OS systems audio setup via Audio Setup Wizard. Today you can choose the microphone device, but you cannot choose the sound out device. (Add-in: 9.3.136)
Reason: The single biggest obstacle for AC-users is the configuration of sound on their system. First they have to configure the sound in the OS (which can be very difficult), next they have to configure the sound in AC. The Audio Setup Wizard should be able to configure sound on the system and in AC once for all (other systems like Skype do this).1.b. Audio: Improvement of the Audio Setup Improvement of the Audio Setup Wizard to directly configure all sound preferences in a simple way:
A. First screen: Get rid of first Welcome screen: this it not necessary
B. Second screen: Make it possible to select audio out device, set volume of audio out device, and test audio out device
C: Third screen: Make it possible to select audio in device, set microphone volume / automatic gain control, and make a test recording in the same window (record/play)
D. Four screen: Advanced audio settings: Use Enhanced Audio (via Add-in), Use Flash Player audio, mode of echo cancellation. Quality setting. Wizard
Reason: It does not make sense, that audio out selection is not possible, and that vital functions such as detailed volume control for the microphone is hidden away under Advanced Setting, which by the way is deactivated by default. Volume control could be placed in Step 3, where it says: "Tune Microphone Volume". If users could choose their audio setup such as 1. a headset 2. loud speakers 3. speaker phones etc. some more advanced echo cancellation settings could be configured. Audio Setup Wizard should do it all in a very simple way.
1.b. Audio: Shortcut configuration of device for audio in/out and volume for audio in/out right next to the microphone button.
Reason: This would solve maybe 50% of all support issues, and would make it very quick and easy to setup sound before a meeting.
1c. Audio: Better echo cancellation on Mac and Linux platforms
Reason: Good echo cancellation is so important in video and web conferencing.
