titleRequirements

To be able to delete any group in the GEANT AAI Service, you need to fulfill at least one of these requirements:

  • To be a manager of the GEANT VO → Then you can delete any group
  • To be a manager of any existing Group in the GEANT VO → Then you can delete any group you are a manager of.

As both of these operations are similar, this guide will focus primarily on deleting a group from the perspective of a Group manager.

Warning

Before you delete the Group, please ensure you have the right one.

There is no redo operation to get your Group back.

Step 3:

Confirm the deleting. There are two red buttons for confirmation:

  • Delete - This will remove the Group only if there are not relation to it (no members, no configuration, no sub-groups). Otherwise it will end with error.
  • Delete with all relations - This will remove the Group with all its relationship (all memberships, the whole configuration, all sub-groups and their relationship recursively)

Using the "Delete" button you can safely remove unused group (for example, if you created it by mistake or if you already removed all relationship by yourself)

Using the "Delete with all relations" is the quick way how to clean the environment but you should always check first, before you do this step. It will always asked you for another confirmation. You will need to type 'DELETE' and again confirm the action by the red button "Delete with all relations".
