AAI

Access to the system is controlled through username / password. New users can be created by the System's administrators and are only for the portal (they are not a user's windows; Géant; or eduRoam credentials).

Functionality

Detailed View Pages

The detailed view pages allow the user to display all the graphs of a particular type for a given country, simply select the time period and country and the graphs will be displayed.

Data Tables

There are several pages in the portal that display status information in tables:

Multicast Beacon Availability – Summary View

EUMETSAT Channel Availability – Summary View

EUMETSAT Data Utilisation – Summary View

All of the information in these tables can be ordered by any column that has the ordering arrows present. Multiple columns can be used for ordering by holding the shift key down whilst clicking on the column headers that you wish to order them by.

There is a search box on the top right of the tables that will search across all of the columns and filter the table accordingly

Clicking on the row of a table will display a graph of the relevant information, if there is a timespan dropdown then the graph will display for the specified span. Once a graph is loaded you are able to change the timespan using the dropdown that appears below the graph.

You can save the data in the table as a csv file by clicking on the save icon found above the table, this will save all rows from the table regardless of paging.

You can print the data in the table by clicking on the print icon found above the table, this will only print the rows that are currently visible on the page.

Refresh rate

The display of the table is refreshed every minute, though the information coming from the backend may not refresh this frequently by updating the frontend this often ensures that any changes in the source data are displayed no later than 1 minute after the change has occurred.

Update User

Once you are logged in you are able to update the following details on your account:

Email address

Password

You can access the user update page by clicking on the username that appears in the top right of the portal page, next to the logout link

Once on this page you can change your email address by simply filling in the email address field and clicking save.

Your password is only changed if you fill in the password and confirm password fields, if you leave them blank then your password will remain unchanged

EUMETSAT Administrator

This role can be created upon request to the Operations team.

A user with this level of access can add EUMETSAT users.

When you are logged in as an administrator you are able to see an extra admin link in the top menu bar, clicking this will take you through to the administration section of the portal. Here you will see a menu on the left-hand side with a single option of 'User Admin'. Clicking this will take you to a page displaying the following

A count of the registered EUMETSAT users and the number of remaining accounts that can be created

The EUMETSAT users’ details

Links to edit an individual user

Link to create a new user (provided you have not reached your maximum number of users)

Creating / Editing Users

Creating a new user is just a case of clicking on the link, filling in all the relevant details and clicking save.

When editing a user the only differences are as follows:

You are not able to change a user's username

If you leave the password field and the password confirm fields blank then the password will remain unchanged

If you have accounts that are no longer used these can be marked inactive by unchecking the Active checkbox, doing this will mean that this user is no longer able to log in, and it will decrease the number of EUMETSAT created accounts thereby freeing you up to create more.
