Let's have a quick view on who's around in this task and what

Who?Where?What?Why here?What else?When?
SWITCH, SwitzerlandProgramme Manager doing mainly identity stuff these days. With SWITCH for almost 3 decades. Prepare for things that might make it into production - or not. But preferably early enough to not get inadvertently overtaken by events and be ready to take informed decisions.

After two decades doing identity federations and more than one decade doing interfederation our community has achieved quite an impressive global identity infrastructure with an impressive governance framework to keep things going.

"Distributed Identities", SSI and eID are the new kids on the block.

They can either steal is the show and make us redundant or we can show them that it is much more fun to re-use our stuff and takes them further.

I favour the latter. And would like to contribute to make it happen.

Cycling for fun and mobilityMostly around for the rest of the year
Niels van Dijk SURF,
The Netherlands
Technical Productmanager Trust and Identity. Mostly working on new stuff at SURF, currently including Wallets and SSI. Co-team lead of the WP5 Trust & Identity Incubator in the GEANT project. Also working in the DC4EU Lardge Scape Pilot and the EBSI-Vector project in the context of the EUDI.

I have been working at SURF(net) for almost 15 years, mostly creating new identity federation and research AAI services.

As said, I mostly work on new stuff at SURF, trying to get some bearing on the usability and impact of wallets & SSI for our institutions and services.

Singing in a chamber choir and playing with all domotics mostly with the aim of getting my house and family more sustainable. No big plans for the rest of the year so I should be available.
Nicolas Liampotis GRNET, GreeceWorking at GRNET as a Trust & Identity engineer. Working on Authentication & Authorisation Infrastructure services for enabling research communiting to access research data and services. Involved in the AARC project (coordinating the architecture work package during the second phase of the project, i.e. AARC2) which provided the AARC Blueprint Architecture (BPA) along with recommendations and techncal guidelines. Excited to contribute to the evolution of the AARC BPA in upcoming AARC T(h)REE. Also involved in the development of the OIDC frontend for the GEANT Core AAI Platform in the context of GN4-3 & GN5-1.Interested to see how SSI and eIDs can fit into/evolve the current R&E ecosystemRunning. Would like to transition from road to trail runningReady to participate and contribute mostly after September
Marcus Hardt KIT, GermanySenior Researcher at KIT. Working on solutions and architectures to boost Identitiy Management for research.  We've transferred the AARC BPA results into the Helmholtz AAI and the upcoming National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) for country-wider university research infrastructures.  We develop tools to improve OIDC usage on the commandline and for long-living use cases. OIDC-agent, mytoken, ssh-oidc are the essential developments.SSI is probably a logical next step for OIDC. Anyhow, I want to make sure that our tools support SSI natively as early as possible: SSI for oidc-agent, SSI for SSH, ...Diving, Photography, Cycling. The rest of the year seems to be fully booked already ;]

Esther Ruiz Ben DFN, GermanyWorking at DFN-AAI as IT architect. Currently focused on the development of the DFN-edu-ID.Looking for tools to make distributed identities compatible with each other.
