The purpose of this work package is to work with WP1 and WP2 in order to help with adoption and validation of the AARC TREE results. The main objectives are the following:

  • Design and execute cross-RI pilots that will validate the guidelines in a real environment and confirm their technical feasibility.

  • Deliver an automated validator suite and collaborate with AEGIS for the implementation of an online validation service.

  • Engage partners in adapting the emerging guidelines and use the validation suite to verify the correctness of the implementations.

  • Provide feedback to WP1 and WP2 based on the experience in adopting, implementing and piloting the guidelines.

  • Collect feedback relevant for the adaptation and validation from relevant parties who are not directly participating in the project.

Tasks

Task 1: Guidelines Pilots (M6-M22)

This task will focus on cross-RI pilots and validation of both technical and policy guidelines based on the use cases captured and analysed by WP3. The task will closely collaborate with WP1 and WP2 to receive the outcomes of these WPs, validate them via the piloting activities and provide feedback. On M6 the task will start with a pilot, in collaboration with WP2, for the WISE Acceptable Usage Policy and Privacy Notices interoperability across RIs and the impact to the user experience. In addition, focused piloting activities will be executed in support of the work performed in WP1 for OpenID Connect Federations and the Authorisation for Federated Resources.

Task 2: Adoption and Automated Validators (M6-M22)

Partners: MU, GRNET, Nikhef (NWO-I), GEANT, EGI, CERN, STFC-UKRI, SURF, KIT, GWDG, STFC, PSI, MARIS BV; effort required: 19.25 PM
This task will work closely with WP1 and WP2 and will deliver an automated validator suite for the interoperability guidelines produced by these WPs. Partners operating AAI services will adopt and implement the interoperability guidelines in their production environments and will validate their implementations using the automated validator suite. GEANT and GRNET, responsible for delivery of the automated validator suite, will work with AEGIS for the implementation of an online validation service that will allow the conformance validation of participating RIs. In addition, the validator suite will be available to the whole community, so that RIs and other implementers can perform self assessments locally.
