This talk aims to provide a clear understanding of how generative AI can be applied to network management, and what to expect when AI-driven agents shape the next generation of autonomous network operations.

NOCs usually manage optical and IP networks, but there is a demand on more and more non-IP services. Are we, NOC people, the same people that manage Quantum, Fibre-sensing, or Time and Frequency networks? Is there separate people taking care of that? What are the use cases we find in our networks.

SIG-NOC Tools Survey Preparation, Maria Isabel Gandia, CSUC

SIG–NOC traditionally asks for the trends in the tools used by R&E organisation to manage their networks for each function involved in network operations. With the raise in the usage of AI, the survey needs to incorporate new tools and trends. In this session, we will take a look at the current survey questions, we will decide on the tools and functions to add or remove and we will come up with the structure, questions and suggested answers for the next survey.

Flow monitoring at scale - TBC

Akvorado is an open-source network traffic analysis and flow collection tool that is starting to be used in several R&E organisation. In this talk we will explore how it works, some use case and the potential collaboration at a broad scale to use flow monitoring tools.
