16th SIG-CISS meeting

The 16th SIG-CISS meeting of the GÉANT Community Programme will take place at the Tecnopolo di Bologna, Italy, hosted by ICSC Foundation and INFN, on December 3-4, 2025.

It will be implemented as a Joint workshop with ICSC and INFN. Remote participation is possible via Zoom.

The main focus topics will be Storage Federations, Data and Global Data Infrastructures.

EVENT DURATION
The event will run over 1,5 days (1 afternoon + 1 full day):
it will start on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 1 PM CET and will finish on Thursday, December 4, at 5:30 PM CET.
(A light welcome lunch is provided from 12 noon to 1 PM CET on Wednesday, December 3)

WORKSHOP topics: The proposed sessions will cover:

Storage solutions and federations in EOSC-related project proposals
AAI integration with storage services and resources; mapping of global federated users to local resources
Data access protocols and technologies to handle sensitive data, Trusted Research Environments, Secure Processing Environments.
Workflow modelling and management, possibly covering AI-enabled solutions
Data access and data management at the Edge
Scalability metrics measured over distributed federated sites, large volumes of data, heterogeneous hardware, software and protocols
Impact of federated storage solutions and their integration with public or private wide area networks
Sync and Share storage services and their integration across different domains
