DEFINITIONS

  • AAI - The GEANT AAI Service
  • DPO - Data Protection Officer
  • CIRT: Computer Incident Response Team
  • Service: A service using the AAI for authentication and authorisation of End Users
  • Participant - An entity providing, managing, operating, supporting or coordinating one or more Service(s) connected to the AAI
  • Personal Data - Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person [GDPR].
  • Policy - This document
  • Processing (Processed) - Any operation or set of operations, including collection and storage, which is performed upon Personal Data [GDPR].
  • End User - An individual who by virtue of their membership of on the AAI is authorized to use the Participant's Services.

Introduction

You are reading this because You wish to rely on the AAI for user authentication and authorisation in your Service. These Terms of Use govern Your use of the AAI. By using the AAI You accept that Your use of the AAI will be subject to these Terms. 

These Terms will be binding and enforceable on You as contractual obligations and You confirm that You are a duly authorised representative of Your organisation for approving these Terms of Use as a contractual obligation for Your organisation. 

If You do not accept these Terms, then You must not use the AAI.

Compliance with applicable legislation

You are obliged to ensure that You hold all necessary licenses, permits and rights for providing your Service and that You comply with any and all applicable laws in connection with the use of the AAI.

Compliance with the GÉANT policies

You are obliged to ensure that you recognise and comply with the following policies and procedures:


End users’ compliance

All End Users of the “AAI” are subjected to the Acceptable Use Policy.

Your service may provide its own Acceptable Use Policy, as long as the provisions stated therein do not violate the Acceptable Use Policy of the AAI.

Liability

Your use of the AAI provided by GÉANT is entirely at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms of use creates any liability on the part of GÉANT. 

Other agreements

If You have a direct agreement with GÉANT, that agreement shall take precedence over these Terms. In any other case, the provisions of these Terms shall take precedence.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the legislation of the Netherlands. The courts of the Netherlands will have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute or claim.
