A WebRTC BoF was organised on Tuesday afternoon. The presenters were Peter Szegedi (GÉANT), Mihaly Meszaros (NIIF), Franck Rupin (RENATER) and Rui Ribeiro (FCT/FCCN). About 30 people attended the session and we had a good round of discussion:

- Those NRENs that are looking into WebRTC are primarily interested in some quick business benefits rather than building something at this stage. HEAnet is evaluating Vidyo, Zoom and other commercial solutions to start with.

- Attendees expressed the importance of gatewaying and (backward) compatibility with traditional VC systems/services. We should buy these gateways on the market rather than developing them. There are many even open source solutions out there. JISC for instance is evaluating Pexip and their Vscene solution provide a bridge between technologies.

- Belnet, PSNC, and the Nordics investigate whether or not they would join a Jitsi-based open source multi-NREN WebRTC infrastructure platform proposed by SA8 Task 2. RENATER will focus on the app development API on this platform.

- Rui presented excellent ideas on how students and other app developers can be motivated by such a development platform. Organising a GÉANT WebRTC hackaton might be a good idea at some stage.
