This is the page of the SIG-ISM Working Group 1, which is working on creating an Inventory for European NREN and other R&E community Security Officers.

DeiC

DeIC - Danish e-Infrastructure Cooperation was established in 2012, with the purpose to support Denmark as an e-Science nation through delivery of e-infrastructures (computing, storage and network) to research and researchbased teaching.
Organizationally, DeiC belongs to the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and is not an independent legal entity.

IUCCIUCC was established as the Israel’s NREN in 1984 by Israel’s research universities and operates as a non-profit organization. SA NREN

The roles and responsibilities of the de facto South African NREN (SA NREN) are distributed between the South African National Research Network (SANReN) Competency Area (CA) at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Tertiary Education and Research Network of South Africa (TENET).

The SANReN CA is responsible for the design, acquisition and roll-out of national and international capacity for the SA NREN, as well as the development and incubation of advanced services. It forms part of a comprehensive South African government approach to cyberinfrastructure, geared at ensuring the successful participation of South African researchers in the global knowledge production endeavour.

TENET's main purpose is to secure, for the benefit of South African universities and associated research and support institutions, Internet and Information Technology services. TENET is a service organisation and is committed to service excellence and to services that are strongly aligned and consistent with the organisational requirements of the user community. TENET operates the SANReN Network under the terms of a Collaboration Agreement with the CSIR.

ACOnet

ACOnet is the acronym for "Austrian Academic Computer Network" and represents the network for science, research and education (NREN) in Austria. It is operated by the Vienna University Computer Center, in co-operation with other Austrian Universities, since 1992.

ACOnet provides a powerful and resilient backbone network infrastructure, mainly based on Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology. It's major points of presence are co-located at Universities in Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz,  Salzburg and Wien (Vienna). ACOnet supplies its customers with multi-gigabit Internet access with a special focus on good national and regional connectivity through public and private peerings (Vienna Internet eXchange) and excellent connectivity to the European and global science, research and education community via GÉANT.

Most of all, ACOnet is a scientific network that strives to provide support for public institutions in the fields of research, education and culture. Data exchange among participants as well as with participants of scientific networks in other countries is provided free of charge, limited only by the physical bandwidth of the participant's respective connection. Equally, data upload to commercial networks is provided at no cost. Connection fees correspond solely to the prospective participant's requirements of download from commercial networks.

At the time of writing, ACOnet connects more than 200 participants from all over Austria, such as univiersities and other institutions of higher education, students' dormitories, regional school networks, libraries and museums, hospitals, federal ministries and municipal magistrates, etc.
