This event took place online as the face-to-face event was cancelled. Given the global pandemic, this event explored marcomms themes through the filter of COVID-19 and NRENs' responses to it.

ABOUT THE CYPRUS FACE-TO-FACE MEETING CANCELLATION

An official notification that our venue was no longer available for our meeting is downloadable from the University of Cyprus press release webpage.

The official CyNet cancellation notification is downloadable here: Cynet letter for event cancellation_signed.pdf

If you have agenda ideas for this or future meetings, please contact Laura.Durnford@geant.org or add them directly into the agenda suggestions page. If you would like to host a future meeting, please let Laura know!

Accommodation:

Special rates have been arranged by CyNet with The Landmark Nicosia (ex-Hilton Cyprus - about 5 kms from the venue).
If you wish to stay here you must make your reservation with Ms Sofi Anagnostopoulou (sanagnostopoulou@thelandmarknicosia.com) and note that you are attending the SIG-Marcomms Meeting.

Other suggestions are
Semeli Hotel (very close to The Landmark Nicosia)
Classic Hotel (in the old town but further away from the venue)
UC Hall Residence (or those who want to be right next to the venue - but it's rather far from the city centre.)

Transport

Where to land: We suggest landing at Larnaca airport, which is much closer to Nicosia than the Pafos.

Airport to Nicosia: Kapnos Airport Shuttle or you can arrange for a taxi with Mr. Andreas ++357 99 689020 / antreastaxi@cytanet.com.cy (about 50 euro per ride).

City centre to venue: The best way to get around is by taxi. Bus service is rather limited.

Electricity plug in Cyprus is "G" (UK) type -

TO VLOG OR NOT TO VLOG

Following the recent meetings' sessions about vlogging and hands-one video editing training, have you been making more use of short, self-made videos in your work? If so, please share examples, tell us what else you have learned and why you like it? If not, why not - what are the barriers? Is there anything further we should do within the SIG-Marcomms meetings in this area?
