The main WiFiMon components and the information flow among them are depicted in the figure below. 




The minimum components that the WiFiMon Administrator needs to install in order to use WiFiMon includes:

  1. WiFiMon Test Server (WTS)
  2. WiFiMon Analysis Server (WAS)

Using this basic setup only crowdsourced measurements from the end user devices are possible. If the WiFiMon administrator wants to add measurements from fixed locations within the monitored Wi-Fi network, then WiFiMon Administrators have to, additionally, set up WiFiMon Hardware Probes (WHP).

If the WiFiMon Administrator wants to enhance monitoring capabilities with throughput analysis per access point within the monitored Wi-Fi network, log streaming can be also setup so that information from performance measurements is correlated with data from RADIUS and DHCP logs. All the instructions for these activities are provided in the separate documents given in the list below:
