Requirements

To be able to find any existing Group in the GEANT AAI Service, you need to fulfill at least one of these requirements:

  • To be a manager of the GEANT VO → Then you can list and find any Group in the GEANT VO
  • To be a manager of any existing Group in the GEANT VO → Then you can list and find all Groups you are a manager of

As both of these operations are similar, this guide will focus primarily on finding an existent group from the perspective of a Group manager.

Step 1:

Access the GEANT AAI Service and get into your home Dashboard - https://vo.aai.geant.org/home

Here, you have three options for how to find your group:

  1. If you already used it recently, you can now find it in the recently viewed objects. Click on the proper icon of the Group. → continue on Step 5
  2. If you are a manager of only a few groups, you can find a table with all groups where you are a manager on your Dashboard and find the Group there. Click on the proper Group in the list. → continue on Step 5
  3. You can access the Group via the Access Management. → continue on Step 2

Step 2:

If you are looking for your Group via Access Management, the first step is to select the VO to which the Group belongs.

In the GEANT AAI Service it should be the GEANT Vo.

Step 3:

After clicking on the proper VO, choose the Groups settings for that VO.

Step 4:

Find the Group you are looking for in the list. You can use the filter full text search.

There are two different views you can use:

  • Tree view - It will show the groups using a hierarchy view from the top to bottom
  • List view - It will show the list of all groups without the implicit hierarchy.

We recommend to use the List view while looking for specific group.

Step 5:

In the Group's setting there are multiple options how you can manipulate with your group. We can divide them into three categories:

  1. Operations
    1. Change the name or description of the Group → click on the black icon of the pen next to the Group's name and ID.
    2. Delete the Group → click on the black icon of the bin next to the Group's name and ID.
  2. Basic setting
    1. Members → Manage all members in this group (add, invite, remove, list)
    2. Subgroups → Show you all sub-groups of this group.
    3. Resources
    4. Applications → All currently pending, approved or rejected applications to your group. They can be approved or rejected here.
    5. Attributes
    6. Statistics
  3. Advanced setting
    1. Membership
    2. Managers → All current managers of this particular groups. They can be listed, added or removed there.
    3. Application form → The configuration of the application form for this Group.
    4. Notifications → The configuration of the notifications send to managers or users (for example while invited) of this Group.
    5. External sources
    6. Relations

The bold setting options are the most important.
