Description

This workshop introduces you to the basics of Marketing within the GEANT environment. We will examine the portfolio of GEANT services and how they are promoted by GEANT and the NRENs.

The workshop will narrow down on how to promote a specific GEANT service. eduGAIN will serve as our use case for setting up a Marketing campaign. We will examine how eduGAIN is currently promoted within the NREN community and we will discuss its marketing challenges.

This workshop will be interactive. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the content they have learned to the development of their own marketing campaign of eduGAIN in between the sessions.

Workshop objectives

The aim of the workshop is to provide the participants with a clear understanding of the concept of marketing in an NREN environment. At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to apply tools and concepts learned to the development of their own campaign.

Preparational Task for participants

  • Inform yourself about the GÉANT Service Portfolio
  • Familiarize yourself with the features of eduGAIN
  • Bring with you a clear understanding of your NRENs approach on Marketing


Target Group

Participants from Emerging NRENs or NRENs in the process of transformation and an interest in Marketing and Communications (MarComms).

Workshop Schedule

The workshop will be conducted in an interactive format. The workshop will start with an opening round, at which the participants will have the chance to voice their expectations of the workshop, which we will review again at the end.

 In between the sessions we will focus on practical work. Each participating NREN ..

  At the end of the workshop, the participants will have the tools to review the Marketing Strategy of their respective NREN and will have considered several options for its further refinement.
