The Dbeacon matrix monitors Multicast traffic within the network.

The system comprises of a GUI written in Perl and a C++ program called dbeacon.

The configuration files are stored in /etc/dbeacon/

The data files are stored in /var/lib/dbeacon/EUMET

*** The most important file is the  /var/lib/dbeacon/EUMET/dump.xml . The is updated by the dbeacon process every 30 seconds. The portal uses this file to create the Dbeacon Availability data.


There are two production instance of the service one at prod-eumetsat01.geant.net (AKA eumetsat,geant.net) located in the Frankfurt PoP and prod-eumetsat02.geant.net located in the Bratislava PoP.
