Getting to Kaunas

Kaunas Airport

Kaunas International Airport is located close to the city and has directs flights to some cities in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Denmark and other countries. Many flights connect via Warsaw.

Bus

City bus No. 29 conveniently connects Kaunas Airport and Kaunas city: AIRPORT TO CITY BUS (ignore references to Litas, only Euro is used in Lithuania since 2015).

The trip costs €1. You can buy the ticket at the bus; prepaid cards are available at Narvesen kiosks (there’s one at the arrivals hall of the airport, too).

Taxi

Taxi trip costs approximately 20 (ask the driver to indicate the price before the trip starts).

Consider using Taxify App (there is no Uber in Kaunas, but Taxify works the same).

Vilnius Airport

Vilnius International Airport is the main airport of Lithuania. There are a few ways to travel to Kaunas:

Train

You can plan your trip and buy train tickets on the Lithuanian Railways website: https://www.traukiniobilietas.lt/portal/en

There is no direct train to Kaunas from Vilnius Airport, you need to take a short (8 min) train ride to Vilnius and then change. Transfer times vary; ideally 20-40 minutes.

Bus

There is a direct bus from Vilnius airport to Kaunas. However, in Kaunas it stops outside of the city centre (Savanoriu Ave. 402A). Schedules and tickets: https://www.ollex.lt/en/express/Vilnius-airport/buy-a-ticket

From there, you can take City bus No. 29 to get to the city centre (aprox. 20 mins) or various busses to get to the meeting venue (schedules and routes: http://www.stops.lt/kaunas/#plan//en).
